On Wednesday 24th May, Paul (accompanied by his wife, Mary), Jan, Jackie and Gemma attended the Beating Retreat & Reception, at Holyrood Palace in Edinburgh. They were given the opportunity to listen to the pipe band and watch the Highland dancers outdoors, before being welcomed indoors to mingle whilst enjoying drinks and hors d’oeuvres.

They were fortunate that Scotland's (often) unpredictable weather was in their favour, as it was a warm and sunny evening! These events sat alongside the General Assembly of the Church of Scotland which Paul is attending along with Revd Fiona Bennett, our URC General Assembly Moderator and Minister of Augustine United Church.
